Tattoos, Bangs, and Red Ears
I stayed with two children Monday afternoon while their parents took care of some business and had such a fantastic time! My favorite part was “hair-do time”. For both being under the age of seven, I was impressed with their long attention span when it came to doing my hair. We must have sat on the livingroom floor for at least 45 minutes while they both took brushes to my head very vigorously in an effort to get out what Gracine called “the bumps”. At one point she looked me right in the eyes and very seriously said, “I am going to try very hard to get out all the bumps but you have difficult hair so I don’t know if I can.” Difficult hair, who knew?
Mid-way through the styling efforts Nic was busy brushing one side of my head which also included mauling my ear when out of the corner of my eye (I was keeping them shut most of the time to avoid being poked by bristles) I saw him lean down and give the kitty a few strokes with the brush and then return to brushing my hair. Be proud of me, I did NOT scream. I remained calm. I even waited to see if there would be a repeat performance, which there was, and at that point I decided that getting out bumps is one thing but having cat hair added to my scalp was quite another. Nic had to take a bit of a break and choose which of us he would be brushing, me or the cat.
After hairstyling time I was also compelled to add a tattoo and round out my entire new look so I am proudly displaying a purple and white rabbit on my arm. Gracine thinks I look like Hannah Montana. I have no idea who that is but she seemed pretty excited about it. I will definitely be going back to get my hair “done” again some time soon.
