Yes, this is my life

Posted in Personal at 11:32 am by admin

These are views of our home office, upstairs after a portion of the ceiling fell in. We came home from church on Sunday to find a gaping hole and lots of damp insulation EVERYWHERE. The past 36 hours have consisted of mass amounts of itching, scratching, puffy eyes, coughing, and some productive work as we (and an amazing group of friends) knocked the rest of the ceiling down in the office and in our guest bedroom, cleared out all the insulation, and then rehung new sheet sheetrock.

Up until this morning the living room and dining room were full of furniture/boxes/books/and all other paraphernalia that we’ve collected over the years. So yes, it’s been insane around here and we have a ways to go before those two rooms are usable again.

So be praying for us this holiday weekend but also know that we will be singing praise to God and giving him thanks that we have a home that stands, friends who are faithful and work so hard for us, and no injuries (yet).

Marital Bliss

Friends of ours are getting married in January and we’ve been busy over the past few months throwing them showers and getting ready for the big day. They recently moved closer to us and I am so excited to be able to watch them grow as a couple. Watching others get married helps remind me of how beautiful the sacrament is and how blessed I am to have Bryan in my life. Thought I would insert a picture I took of the two lovebirds last month.

Rain on my Comforter

I am actually serious. Yesterday, in the midst of a rain and wind storm, water started leaking from the ceiling onto my bed. Turns out stripping our roof over the weekend maybe wasn’t the best idea. However, we’re all dried out now and the roofing materials were delivered today. Hooray! We’ll have a new roof before winter seriously sets in and best of all, we found some one else to do it so that Bryan is free to work on other things. Still, there was that moment as I sat in bed with my laptop and started hearing a plunking sound at my feet that I couldn’t help but laugh at the situations we get ourselves into. Someday I’ll be able to write a great book about being married to an Agee.
